Memphis wedding photographer-baby, children, family, engagements

I grew up in the Appalachian Mountains and attended Cumberland College (now University of the Cumberlands), a small private Christian college. I earned a BS in English, with a minor in Communications. After my husband and I met, we decided to have an adventure, and we moved to West Palm Beach, Florida. We lived there for nine years, and I worked in the non profit world. I also taught college English. During this time, I also began my photography journey in 2003. We made a lot of wonderful memories in Florida, but hurricanes and commercialism were not for us! We decided we liked the Southern way of life and headed back to our roots. We moved to Collierville in 2007 and have found our home.

My husband and I have a college-aged daughter who attends University of Memphis. I like to call her my {adult child} because she still needs advice from her momma from time to time. We also have a son, who is an avid soccer player. On any given night you can find us biting our nails as we watch our son play goalie for one of the local soccer clubs.

The most important thing you need to know about me is that I love what I do. Taking your portraits is an honor for me. It is not a job; it is my passion. I have never grown bored with it. It always excites me. At most every session, clients are amazed at how patient I am with them, their family, their children, and the entire sitting. I love getting down at the level of the child and capturing who he or she is. Sometimes during a session, children need to take a snack break or newborns need to take a feeding, and it is during those times I find myself getting caught up in talking to their parents! I enjoy getting a feel for who you are because that is what I want to capture in your portrait...YOU!

When it comes to events and weddings, I firmly believe the client is the boss. During the preplanning meeting, I like to create a timeline with the bride and her family so they can get an idea of how the photography portion of the day can flow. During this meeting, I also show an entire wedding gallery, so the client can see what my work looks like from start to finish.

I gave up Diet Coke in 2015 after being addicted to it for over 20 years! Up next...chocolate and french fries? Maybe! You can usually find us at LaHacienda on Friday nights or at Collierville First Baptist Church on Sundays. In my spare time I like to sit on the couch with my hubby and watch HGTV and dream a little.

I hope to see you real soon.

Blessings and Peace,
