Garrett’s Collierville High School Senior Pictures
Garrett’s Collierville High School Senior Pictures
Garrett and his family are some of the first people I met when I moved here in 2007. It seems so odd to me that he is now a senior in high school. If you know his mom, you know you can’t be around her for five minutes without laughing, a lot! She is so much fun! I was thrilled when S called me and wanted me to take her son’s high school senior photos. Like most parents, she wasn’t looking forward to what the required school photographer would provide.
Our first choice was this AH-MAZING home out in Collierville that used to be a nursery. Honestly, it is a photographer’s dream, and I couldn’t wait to photograph G’s senior photos there. But, I guess you can’t predict what I’m going to write next. It’s a four letter word. R.A.I.N. Yes! It was practically a monsoon the day before (or weekend before) we were to take these photos. I doubt we’d get out of the ground without getting really wet and really muddy. Well, so much for our amazing location, sigh.
Fortunately, the Collierville Square is perfect in instances like this. It’s mostly concrete and dries rather quickly. If you have a high school senior (and one that is active) there is hardly ANY time on the calendar to make these sessions work. Rescheduling isn’t likely to happen, so we just had to make this date work.
Now, Garrett is such a nice kid. (Sorry, G! I hope you didn’t cringe when you read that!) But, seriously, Collierville High School has some stellar kids attending there. G runs track (I don’t think it’s cross country). So, we started off with a very nice formal outfit and a casual outfit at the Square. Then, we decided to get a little adventurous and try some photos at the track. Well, the gate was locked. What to do???? I really wanted these shots. I guess if you’re a Collierville student, you know how we got in, and I will leave it at that! *wink* Let’s just say, this 39 year old held her own, and that’s all I have to say about that.
Once S and G received the photos, S wrote me about how pleased they were with the portraits. And, you know what? THAT’S EXACTLY WHY I DO WHAT I DO.
Thanks, guys! I can’t wait to see where G ends up going to school!
Blessings and Peace,
Cindy
