Should I schedule an indoor session or an outdoor session with my Memphis photographer?
I’ve almost wrapped up blogging for the 2013 year. I know you guys can’t believe it since it’s MAY 2014!!! When we met for this session, it was DECEMBER, and we had already rescheduled SEVERAL TIMES. Mom originally wanted outdoor photos. One day we had photos scheduled, and it was SO WINDY, that wasn’t going to happen. One day we had photos scheduled, and it was bitterly cold. We decided it was time to try the studio and just go for it even though she had hopes of an outdoor session.
This made me think of the topic for today’s blog post…Should I schedule an indoor session or an outdoor session with my Memphis photographer?
Not all photographers have the ability to bring clients to a studio. I’m very fortunate to have a designated space to photograph clients for whatever the reason.
When babies are small…they grow fast. They certainly do not need to be photographed outdoors. It’s important to document them as they are in this stage of life.
For a family portrait session…I think you need to ask yourself this question…what is my vision for the portrait? Where do I want to hang it in my home? If I take the photo indoor or outdoor will it matter where I put the portraits?
There really isn’t a right or wrong answer here. It’s really up to the client to determine what his/her needs are. For this particular client, she knew she needed a photo or two of her sweet little baby and a photo or two of her entire family. I was glad we went ahead and scheduled the shoot when we did.
And, you know that crazy Memphis weather? It was SO WARM the day we took the photos in December! Yeah, I can’t figure out Memphis weather, either.
